I'm so mad! I used the underwater housing ONE time to shoot video in 2' of water, and it leaked and now the camera is ruined. Why not just say "This may or may not work, you be the gambler"?? Make it explicit: You have to REALLY know how to make the seal tight, or you will blow it in a big and expensive and cruelly disappointing way. My rechargeable batteries also got corroded in the process, so it's a double loss. Grr.

I think that over 90% of the people who purchase this item will know nothing of the perils of underwater photography work. There are perils. BE WARNED. Even a $1000 waterproof housing will leak; the top award-winning underwater photographers I know realize this.

You can avoid leaks by testing your housing before you put a camera in it, testing it at regular intervals, and being EXTREMELY CAREFUL with it. A grain of sand on the seal will cause water to leak. I don't own this housing, so I don't know what the instructions are. Nevertheless, FOLLOW THEM TO THE LETTER. Look for a scuba supply store near where you live and get a book on underwater photography.

I bought this case and took my flip on a snorkelling trip.
After we were done snorkelling and I opened the cover, turned out water had leaked into my camera. My two week old flip camcorder stopped working after that.
Please do not waste your money in buying this.

I bought this for my son who LOVES his Flip. We haven't used it under water, yet. I actually am a little afraid to
use it underwater, as I do not want to replace the Flip. I bought it more for protection at the beach from sand.

Bought this "underwater" case and a brand new flip for a vacation and snorkeling in the caribbean. Was more than a little worried having read one negative review here and after noticing how poorly made the case was (the power button on the case is miss-aligned by a couple millimeters and so you can't turn the thing on and off outside of the case)

Sure enough after less than 10 minutes of use, I am happily chasing around reef fish with the cam when I noticed with panic sea water filling up the inside of the case. I opened up and shook it out fast as I could but too late the flip is entirely dead. $200 worth of colorful toy now a lump of worthless junk.

DO NOT BUY
